  About the Society
Indian Fertility society has been established in the year 2005. It has been an inspirational journey from the initial, 20 founder members to a strength of 2800 life members hailing from 27 state chapters all across the globe.
It is a platform for ART professionals to interact and share knowledge and keep up with vast advances in this field on a continuing basis. This society also acts portal for the young upcoming infertility professionals, reproductive endocrinologists, andrologists and embryologists to interact with the well-established members in the field of infertility, and also showcase their talent and academic acumen.
IFS has been involved in activities facilitating improvement of the current knowledge and ongoing practices in the field of infertility, reproductive endocrinology, and andrology. It has also been imparting and disseminating knowledge through its various teaching, training, and interactive programmes. There are regular, upgrading sessions for improving clinical and laboratory skills. It also provides guidance that enhances safety and quality assurance in clinical and laboratory procedures. Apart from educational activities for the clinicians’ IFS also has been involved in empowerment and guidance to the other allied specialties like andrology, endocrinology, counselling.
Currently, it has spread its wings beyond India to the adjoining countries like Nepal and Bangladesh. A chapter has been formed with office bearers in Nepal. The Indian Fertility society has been actively involved in an outreach programme so as to train the gynaecologists and physicians in the entire country, including the remote areas with poor accessibility. Amongst the academic programmes, Indian Fertility society runs two post graduate diploma programmes in the collaboration with Amity University. One is in the field of Assisted Reproductive Technologies for the clinician an the second one is in Embryology. The Society also has collaborated internationally with European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) to hold the ESHRE preparatory course n embryology. The Indian Fertility society has a legal division for assisting and helping the clinicians to steer through situations in times of need.
IFS has fifteen Special Interest groups, responsible for spreading awareness in the latest in the various fields of reproductive medicine. A holistic approach to patient management is encouraged and the society takes active part in training the clinicians, counsellors, para medical staff and the allied specialties involved in patient management. The Society holds an annual conference which is attended by clinicians, ART specialists, andrologists, counsellors, reproductive endocrinologist and embryologist not only from all parts of India but also from many countries across the world. It is meeting which brings together researchers and clinicians to discuss recent advances and share their research. It also forms a teaching platform for young professionals. Besides this the society hold regional conferences and CMEs.
Indian Fertility society has been actively involved with formulating the latest protocols in various scenarios of reproductive medicine, which help and guide the practicing clinicians. It issues advisories and guidelines when required based on which decisions and regulations are formed. With its stress on academics and ethics it has grown to a society well recognized not only in academic circles but also with the government and research bodies in the country.

  About the Journal

Fertility Science and Research, a publication of Indian Fertility Society, is a peer-reviewed online journal with Semiannual print on demand compilation of issues published. The journal’s full text is available online at http://www.fertilityscienceresearch.org. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

  Scope of the journal

The journal will cover technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in field of Reproductive Science, Assisted Reproduction, Ultrasound, Fertility Enhancing Endoscopy, Clinical Embryology & Basic Science endocrinology. Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference.
